What is a pumptrack?
Pumptrack is relatively new in Slovakia. It is a unique type of a track, two meters wide consisting of waves and banked turns. Instead of pedaling a biker moves forward by “pumping” –by moving up and down while riding on waves a biker gains momentum and speed. You can use a bike, BMX or bounce bike. Pumptrack is fun, safe and unites various generations and categories of riders. Beginners will learn to ride on the pumptrack within 30 minutes. All they have to do is to copy the shape of waves and curves, keep an eye on banked turns and improve their technique by learning to work with their own body. Experienced riders can have fun jumping from wave to wave and riding with higher speed.
