Hiking around Bachledka

Hiking around Bachledka

The mountain area surrounding the year-round family mountain resort BACHLEDKA is a perfect hiking hub. Thanks to its strategic location, it naturally connects the peaceful beauty of the Spišská Magura ridge, the distinctive Zamagurie region and the majestic Belianske Tatras. Families with young children, weekend visitors and experienced high-mountain hikers will all find something to enjoy here.

Easy hiking and family trips

For families with children and recreational hikers, the resort is an ideal starting point with excellent infrastructure:

  • To the Treetop Walk: Pleasant forest trails lead from Bachledova dolina, Jezersko and Malá Franková directly to the Spišská Magura ridge and the Treetop Walk, taking approximately one hour. To save energy, you can comfortably overcome the elevation gain by taking the 10-seater cable car.
  • Hike to Lake Jezersko: A very popular and visually stunning walk from the Spišská Magura ridge (from the upper cable car station) to a natural lake hidden in the dense forests above the village of Jezersko. This year, the hiking trail underwent extensive revitalisation, making it even safer and more comfortable to use. At the same time, a new educational trail is being built, which will connect the BACHLEDKA resort directly with the lake in a fun and educational way – ideal for curious children.

Panoramic ridge hikes and moderately challenging trails

Hikers looking for full-day trips with minimal elevation gain will particularly appreciate the network of trails on Spišská Magura:

  • Spišská Magura ridge: Peaceful forest and meadow paths offering unique views of the Belianske Tatras, the Pieniny Mountains and the picturesque Zamagurie region.
  • Magurské sedlo: A well-known ridge trail (leading from Ždiar via Magurské sedlo and measuring 22 km) that is an excellent choice for lovers of longer ascents and training hikes.
  • Discovering Goral culture: Hiking descents from the ridge lead directly to the traditional villages of Jezersko and Malá Franková. More experienced hikers can continue as far as the distinctive village of Osturňa, which is a folk architecture heritage reserve.

High-mountain challenges: National Nature Reserve

Lovers of demanding, authentic high-mountain hiking can enjoy themselves in the immediate vicinity of the resort, directly in the Belianske Tatras:

  • Monkova dolina and Široké sedlo: An absolute gem of the region. Rich in natural beauty and 5 km long, Monkova dolina leads through the heart of the National Nature Reserve. During the summer season, a one-way educational trail is open along the route: Ždiar – Monkova dolina – Široké sedlo – Kopské sedlo.
  • Connection to the High Tatras: From Kopské sedlo, hikers can continue to the valley of Zelené pleso (to the popular mountain chalet) or to the valley of Kežmarská Biela voda. This is an exceptional and physically demanding mountain hike with an unparalleled atmosphere of the wild Tatra landscape.
