Marble Run
The new addition to the year-round mountain family resort BACHLEDKA, guaranteed to delight families with children, is the wooden Marble Run. This playful and interactive attraction, with a total length of up to 100 metres is located right on the ridge of Spišská Magura. It is strategically situated along the route between the popular Treetop Walk and the Forest Kingdom children’s playground, turning an ordinary walk through the resort into a little adventure.
How does it work and what awaits children?
The principle behind the attraction is very simple, yet incredibly captivating for children. Access to the wooden track itself is free of charge (freely accessible).
- Wooden marble for 2 €: To get the fun started, simply purchase an original wooden marble in the nearby souvenir shops or from the special vending machine. Please note that the machine accepts coins only.
- A journey full of obstacles: Children then release the marble onto the track and excitedly watch it travel through various obstacles, drops, bends and surprising mechanical elements.
- A beautiful keepsake: Once the game is over, children take the marble home – making it a lovely, tangible souvenir from their trip to BACHLEDKA.
Combining movement and playful learning
The Marble Run is not just an ordinary toy, but a clever concept that enriches a family trip:
- Fun education: While playing in nature, children discover basic physical phenomena in an inconspicuous way and see in practice how gravity, motion and simple mechanics work.
- Movement and healthy competition: Running after the marble and following its route encourages children to move naturally in the fresh mountain air and enjoy healthy competition.
Educational trail about local fauna
Right next to the Marble Run, an educational trail has been prepared for visitors. During the game, families can stop and learn more about the animals that inhabit the forests of the Tatras and Zamagurie. Each educational sign features an interactive element – a QR code. After scanning it with a smartphone, children and adults can listen to authentic sounds of a particular animal right on the spot, making the learning experience even more engaging.
The trail presents these local species in detail:
- Red deer (Cervus elaphus)
- Red fox (Vulpes vulpes)
- Brown bear (Ursus arctos)
- Golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)
- Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)
- Eurasian eagle-owl (Bubo bubo)
