Skiing at the BACHLEDKA Resort: Three interconnected valleys, modern cable cars and top-class facilities
Mountain resort BACHLEDKA is one of the most sought-after winter destinations in Slovakia. Thanks to its unique location, it lies directly at the boundary of two national parks – TANAP (Tatra National Park) and PIENAP (Pieniny National Park), while the Pieniny region is directly connected to the picturesque villages of Jezersko and Malá Franková.
The Resort offers ideal conditions for families with children, recreational skiers and lovers of perfectly groomed trails, as well as for experienced athletes and ski mountaineers, connecting three separate valleys (Bachledova dolina, Jezersko and Malá Franková) into a unique ski area.
Excellent accessibility and location
The Resort is easily accessible for visitors from Slovakia and abroad, thanks to its proximity to key regional centres:
- From Poprad: Just approx. 30 km (approximately 35 minutes by car).
- From the High Tatras: Approx. 15–20 km (approximately 15 minutes by car from Tatranská Lomnica).
- From Białka Tatrzańska: Approx. 20 km (approximately 25 minutes by car).
- From Zakopane: Approx. 40 km (approximately 45 minutes by car).
Slopes and technical specifications
- Total trail length: The Resort offers 13.4 km of slopes of all difficulty levels (blue, red and black).
- Technical facilities: Up to 9.9 km of slopes are fully covered by snowmaking systems and regularly groomed to create perfect “corduroy”.
- New – Bachledka Freeride: The newly opened slope is also perfect for lovers of ungroomed, open terrain, right in the heart of Spišská Magura.
Modern cable car and lift infrastructure
Moving around the Resort is quick, comfortable and protected from adverse weather conditions. The comprehensive transport network of the BACHLEDKA Resort connects three valleys via 1 cable car, 2 chairlifts and 4 lifts:
- Main route (Bachledova dolina): A modern 10-seater Cable car Bachledka will take you to the Spišská Magura ridge in just 7 minutes (comfortably, in dry conditions and protected from the wind).
- Malá Franková: A modern detachable 6-seater chairlift with protective bubbles.
- Jezersko: The proven 4-seater chairlift Jezersko, providing smooth transport for skiers.
- Lifts: A total of 4 ski lifts supplement the transport capacity and help connect the individual slopes throughout the Resort.
Ski school and training centres for young talents
- Gorgy Ski School: The largest ski school in the region, with two locations (up on the ridge in the client centre building and down in the pedestrian zone). It offers private and group lessons, 4 conveyor belts (30 m, 30 m, 90 m and 90 m) and an interactive trail with fairy-tale characters. There is also an indoor children’s corner where little ones can warm up.
- National Training Centre for Pupils - Malá Franková and Otto and Vlado Krajňák Training Centre: Professional zones for ski clubs and races. Furmanec II slope (1 220 m, vertical drop 235 m) and the Otto and Vlado Krajňák slope (950 m, vertical drop 212 m) provide top conditions for youth training.
Facilities and comprehensive services
Pedestrian zone in Bachledova dolina: Comprehensive facilities for visitors, including Ski rent and Ski service for skis and sledges, a Sport Shop and Souvenir shop, as well as other additional services.
Gastronomy and eco-friendly facilities at the Resort
- Panorama Restaurant: The main panoramic self-service restaurant (free-flow system) with a capacity of 250 indoor seats and 350 seats on the terrace, offering views of the Belianske Tatras. The building features green roofs, state-of-the-art heat recovery and a zero-waste standard (food and drinks in the restaurant are served in glassware).
- Other dining options in the valleys: Bistro Jezersko, Bistro Furmanec (Malá Franková), La Gamba Restaurant (Bachledova dolina) and Après SKI Hniezdo.
Cross-country skiing, sledding and ski mountaineering
Cross-country trails
Two cross-country tracks with a total length of up to 20 km are available and are not covered with artificial snow. If there is sufficient natural snow, they are groomed by a snow groomer 1× per week and are suitable for both cross-country skiing styles.
Sledding track
Popular 2.5 km long sledding track with a pleasant gradient leads from the summit of Spišská Magura all the way to the car park in Bachledova dolina and is served by the Cable car Bachledka.
Skialp track
For ski mountaineers an official, safely marked ascent route has been prepared, offering unique views of the Belianske Tatras and starting in Bachledova dolina, with strict adherence to the operating rules and the White Code.
