Sledding
In the year-round family mountain Resort BACHLEDKA, non-skiers are guaranteed to enjoy winter too. One of the most popular attractions is the sledding track, which offers a safe and enjoyable descent directly from the ridge of Spišská Magura down to the central car park in Bachledova Valley.
Track parameters and the descent experience
The track is designed to be as safe as possible and suitable for families with children, combining fun with beautiful views:
- Length and profile: The Sledding track is an impressive 2.5 km. It has a very pleasant and smooth gradient – sufficient to keep the sleds moving, yet safe enough to prevent them from reaching excessively high speeds.
- Route and views: The route starts at the top of Spišská Magura (near the ski school) and leads through a snow-covered forest with several clearings offering beautiful views of the snow-covered Belianske Tatras and the houses in the valley.
- Access: A Cable car from Bachledova Valley will conveniently take you to the start of the sledding track.
Evening sledding (Winter Wonderland Bachledka)
The sledding experience takes on a whole new dimension after dark. The attraction is closely connected with the project Winter Wonderland Bachledka:
- Operating period: Evening sledding takes place from the second half of December to the first half of March (regularly every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday).
- Lighting conditions: The track is not artificially lit along its entire length (for safety reasons, only sections with bends are illuminated).
- Headlamp rules: A headlamp is essential for safe night-time riding. The Resort strongly recommends bringing your own headlamps, as their availability is limited. Headlamps are lent exclusively with sleds rented from the Resort (visitors with their own sleds are not entitled to borrow a headlamp from the Resort).
Own sleds, rental and ticket types
You can enjoy a ride on our equipment at the sledding track, as well as on your own:
- Own sleds: Visitors can sled on their own sleds at the track without any problems, simply and conveniently taking them to the start by Cable car.
- Rental: If you do not have your own sled, the Resort is fully prepared. You can rent sleds directly at the top of Spišská Magura at Gorgy Ski School.
- Tickets: You can ideally combine sledding with a visit to the Treetop Walk (combined ticket), or purchase a separate sledding lift ticket and enjoy several descents in a row.
- Validity of the Tatry Super Ski pass: The lift ride to the sledding track is also fully included in a valid Tatry Super Skipass. You do not have to use your pass exclusively on the slopes – it is also valid for daytime and evening family sledding.
Group offers and teambuilding
Are you looking for an original winter activity that will awaken the competitive spirit, bring plenty of laughter and guarantee fun for your company, sports club or group of friends? The popular sledding track at the BACHLEDKA Resort is the ideal choice for unforgettable winter group events.
Why is sledding ideal for groups?
- Timed rides: Would you like to take friendly rivalry to the next level? For corporate teams and private groups, we can arrange a ride with professional timing. Organise your own race and find out which colleague is the fastest on the track!
- Unique 2.5 km-long track: The route leads from the top of Spišská Magura through a picturesque snow-covered forest directly to the large-capacity car park in Bachledova Valley. The pleasant gradient ensures a smooth, safe and fun ride for everyone.
- Comfort without walking uphill: Neither the sleds nor the participants have to struggle with walking uphill. A modern 10-person Cable car Bachledka will provide a fast, warm and comfortable ride to the start.
- Option for evening experiences: To enhance the atmosphere, you can also enjoy an attractive evening sledding experience as part of special events and extended operating hours.
- Individually tailored packages: For corporate clients and larger organised groups, we do not use one-size-fits-all templates, but prepare individual tailor-made offers. Our rental shop also offers group sled hire, of course. We can flexibly combine winter sledding with other experiences at the Resort – such as a festive awards ceremony with lunch/dinner or a hot drink to warm you up at the accessible Panorama Restaurant, a walk along the panoramic Treetop Walk or a visit to the magical evening light exhibition Winter Wonderland Bachledka. A combination with skiing is also possible.
