A combination of fresh mountain air, the majestic Belianske Tatras, and quality Slovak cinematography under the night sky. The year-round mountain family resort BACHLEDKA is enriching its summer program this year with the event “Wandering Cinema in BACHLEDKA”. Visitors can look forward to an unforgettable movie night with completely free admission.

The Wandering Cinema will bring a unique atmosphere right into the heart of the Bachledova Valley that traditional movie theaters simply cannot replicate. Watching a gripping story on the big screen, with stars shining above you and the silence of Tatra nature all around, is an exceptional experience.

A Powerful Story That Will Touch Your Heart: POTOPA

On July 4, 2026, at 9:15 PM, you can look forward to the screening of the award-winning and highly successful Slovak film POTOPA by director Martin Gonda.

The film transports viewers to 1980, telling an emotional story from eastern Slovakia set against the backdrop of historical events – the construction of the Starina water reservoir. The main protagonist is fifteen-year-old Mara, who dreams of becoming a pilot to escape the demanding village life. However, her father Alexander, a traditional Rusyn farmer and widower, insists that she stay home and continue working on their native land.

When their valley faces inevitable flooding due to the dam’s construction and subsequent displacement, the father and daughter must not only cope with the loss of their home and family heritage, but they must also find a way to reconcile with each other. The motion picture depicts a powerful internal struggle between respect for traditions, the loss of one’s identity, and the desire for freedom.

Thanks to the use of the Rusyn language and the involvement of both professional actors and non-actors from the local community, the film Potopa delivers an exceptional and raw authenticity. Watching this profound story about the loss of home and the power of nature right in the embrace of the Belianske Tatras will elevate the entire cinematic experience.

Comfort and Excellent Refreshments

The screening will take place in an easily accessible location—right in the resort by the bottom station of the cable car in the Bachledova Valley. Admission to the event is free of charge.

To make your evening absolutely perfect, the popular LA Gamba Restaurant will be open right next to the screening area. Throughout the evening, you will be able to purchase excellent food, snacks, and beverages.

Notice: Since this is an outdoor event, the screening will be canceled in the event of adverse weather conditions for safety and technical reasons.
